About Lil B.

Who is Lil B? Tha Grinda? Bobby Robinson grew up in a rough and tumble area of south side Houston, TX better known as "59 Southlea", a neighborhood that Paul Wall frequently shouted out on his patented verses. Robinson eventually moved to the Hiram Clarke area of Houston where he began to dabble into his only passion of basketball at that time. Robinson attended Dowling Middle School where he was a star basketball player.

He continued his career at Madison High School where he played basketball on the same team as Vincent Young, the record setting quarterback for the national championship team of the University of Texas Longhorns. While at Madison, Robinson older cousin Trae Tha Truth began to emerge in the rap game as one of the artist in the locally famed group "guerilla maab". Tha group also consisted of dougie-D, and Z-Ro who has become one of the most well respected artist in Texas and the southern region. The group received a cult following as their fast delivery and gritty flows were something that rap fans in Houston and in the South region were not accustomed to. After graduation from Madison High School, Robinson decided to focus on his education and decided to attend Prairie View A&M University around this time after Three successful albums much to the dismay of local fans Guerilla Maab decided to split and go their own separate ways. Trae Tha Truth decided to form his own group entitled S.L.A.B. (Slow Loud And Bangin) Trae Tha Truth offered an invitation to his younger cousin Robinson (Lil B Tha Grinda) to join the group. Robinson who only experience at that time was free-styling in his neighborhood or in the dorm rooms at Prairie View Eagerly Accepted. The group S.L.A.B also consisted of Jay'Ton, Dougie-D, and Lil Boss who was added to the group later. The groups first release was an underground entitled S.L.A.B. Vol. 1. The buzz for the young artist quickly spread. The first underground included such Houston heavy hitters as HAWK(R.I.P.), Paul Wall, Z-Ro, and K-Rino. S.L.A.B would eventually drop five underground classics garnering attention from major record labels all across the country. Robinson (Lil B Tha Grinda) which is his trademark Rap name began to shine on cd's with his witty punch lines and distinct delivery. Many fans began to wonder "Who is Lil B Tha Grinda?" Lil B decided that it was time to open doors for his friends and family who had the same dream but supported him along the way, so he started a branch of his own clique that goes by the name D3G (Dirty Third Grindaz). Armed with a college degree and street smarts Robinson (Lil B Tha Grinda) is not your typical rapper trying to make a quick "come up" in the rap game so he took a different approach by learning some of the IN's and OUT''s of the music business. D3G was formed by AB, and Lil B Tha Grinda into a small independent record label. (D3G Entertainment LLC) that consisted family and real close friends. Tha Grinda is currently looking to build a buzz for his new upcoming album "Real Spit 2". Along with the success of Houston artist making it to the mainstream audience, its only a matter of time before Tha Grinda gets that Break Through that most of his colleagues in H-Town have already received. Like the motto his team D3G firmly stands behind "Grind or Die" Failure is not an option Lil B Tha Grinda is destined to reach high levels of success.
